Keyword Bidding & (ppc -pay per click) : seach engine Advertising

75% of active internet users reap the benefits of online search.
80-90% of business to business transactions begin with a search on the web.

It is the most targeted and cost effective method available to promote your web site.  Keyword bidding means that you can bid on terms which surfers use when they search so that your site can be shown above the competition in search engine results. You are ONLY charged when a surfer actually clicks on your listing and goes through to your site.

Pay per click (PPC) is an Internet advertising model used on websites, where advertisers pay their host only when the ad is clicked. With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market.

Web search engines are driven by users who enter "keywords" for the products, service, or information they are needing. Most online shoppers(customers) turn to search engines when looking for a specific product or service. Paying to have your ads listed in search engine results is called  paid search advertising. It is a great way to reach to your target audience.

For example:all the 7 websites mentioned above have done bidding for the word 'Denver Real Estate'.Highest bidder gets top ranking in search results. And this is how Google make money.

Bidding for the right keywords is one of the most important parts of the paid search advertising process and can help make sure that your site gets in front of the right people. But deciding what certain words and phrases are worth to you is a science.

Google, being the no.1 search engine on the Internet, has compiled a huge database of keyword phrase searches that have been performed. These keyword phrases have been assigned values based on how often they are searched for and the competition of advertisers who are bidding on them.Google has a massive storehouse of advertisements each of which is associated with some number of keywords, as few as one or as many as thousands of combinations.

keywords can be 'exact matches', 'phrase present' matches and 'broad matches'. For example: [camera lens] is an exact match and that advertisement will only be shown when someone types in the search "camera lens". Not "lens for camera" not "nikon camera lens". A phrase match looks like "camera lens" and matches "nikon camera lens", but not "lens for camera", and, finally, camera lens will match the search "repair lens for nikon camera". For each keyword associated with an advertisement, advertisers bid, that is, they indicate how much they're willing to pay for each click-thru resulting from that ad being displayed.

Most search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc) use keyword bidding, which is when competitors bid on certain keywords to determine the cost per click of the keyword/s. The more popular the keyword/s, the more expensive the cost per click will be.Pay per click marketing can be useful for short term search engine marketing, as it can really target your niche audience.

However there are some limitations in PPC i.e. pay per click marketing such as:
1.Price- The price of keywords is constantly on the rise, as competition for prime keywords is high. The price is also always changing since PPC is based on keyword bidding. So having a set budget for PPC marketing is nearly impossible.

2.Fraud- 3 out of 4 advertisers are victims of what's known as "click fraud". Click fraud is when your competitors intentionally click on your paid ads, thereby costing you good amount of money on wasted advertising.

Organic Search Engine Marketing

Organic SEO marketing is more effective and produces much better long term SEO results than PPC. Organic SEO strategies often include techniques like link building, keyword optimization, meta data optimization, blogging, etc. Increasing your website's organic search engine ranking is most often done by using the services of a reliable SEO company.
  • When using an SEO company, you have to pay a flat and/or a monthly fee instead of fluctuating like in PPC marketing,
  • While it takes longer to see results with organic SEO, the results will most likely get you up there in the search engine results pages and keep you there, as opposed to pay per click, which will not affect your organic ranking at all.

  3. I agree with giles and vicky. SEO tools are crucial, but it's not easy to find good and effective seo services. And knowing how to operate these tools can sometimes feel like rocket science. That's why it's super helpful when people post blogs like this one. Thank you a million!
